THE MEDIEVAL SUMMER…ONE “IMMERSION” A DAY
1st day: An “immersion” in culture - ROME/VITERBO
Arrival in Rome in the morning and transfer downtown in a luxury coach.Guided tour of the city. Piazza Venezia, the Colosseum and the Castelli Romani, or the “ Catholic Rome”with the Vatican, the Basilica of Saint Peter and of Saint John Lateran. Free time for lunch.Departure for Viterbo in the late afternoon. Arrival at Viterbo and registration in a charming 3 stars hotel inthe historical centre. Welcome drink in the hotel.Dinner in a typical restaurant, close to the hotel in the medieval centre.A walk inside the boundary walls for an initial look at the town. Return to the hotel for the night.
2nd day : An “immersion” in caressing hot springs
VITERBO – LA QUERCIA - SORIANO NEL CIMINO – BOMARZO – TERME
Breakfast in the hotel.Guided tour of Viterbo, ancient Papal city, Etruscan settlement and then medieval centre of greatinterest; tour of the Papal Palace where the longest conclave in the history of the Church took place,and of the 15th century Prior’s Palace.Afterwards our tour will take us to the Church of La Quercia with the museum of the ex-voto, andwe will admire the Cathedral with its marvellous ceiling covered with gold realized by Antonio DaSangallo the Young.Departure for Soriano nel Cimino and lunch in a restaurant.Tour of Soriano and of the Park of the Monsters of Bomarzo, conceived in 1552 to alleviate Prince PierFrancesco’s loneliness for the loss of his wife: we will admire pagan gods, nymphs, giant dragons, elephants..a unique wonder.In the late afternoon, tour of the baths with the possibility to bathe in the sulphurous hot waters of theBulicame. Dinner in a restaurant and return to the hotel for the night.
3rd day: An “immersion” in the ancient Etruscan history and … in the sea.
VITERBO – TARQUINIA Etruscan tombs and the beach– VITERBO
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for Tarquinia.Guided tour of the Etruscan tombs. Free time for lunch at the lido and free afternoon to sunbathe or toshop. Return to Viterbo, dinner in a restaurant and return to the hotel for the night.
4th day: An “immersion” in the vault of heaven and …in the lake
VITERBO –lake of BOLSENA – VITERBO
Breakfast in the hotel.Departure for Bolsena. Boat trip and tour of the town. Free time for lunch and in the afternoon timefor a swim in the lake or for shopping.Dinner “perfumes and flavours of the Tuscia” in a restaurant in the Monti Cimini area and guided tourof the Astronomical Observatory.A RC 50 cm telescope weighing 1.500 kg installed on the MontiCimini will allow you to admire the vault of heaven even in daytime. You will see the planets and thebrightest stars of the sky, the most unusual lunar craters. The live universe will inflame yoursensations, emotions and imagination. Return to the hotel for the night.
5th day: An “immersion” in the sun and among the flowers.
VITERBO–BOTANIC GARDEN– ROME
Breakfast in the hotel and tour of the botanic garden. Departure for Rome. Free time for lunch.Boat trip on the River Tiber.In the afternoon, guided tour of Rome. In the evening, accomodation in a hotel, dinner and overnightstay.
6th day: A chic “immersion”… shopping! ROME – END OF THE TOUR
Breakfast in the hotel and free time for shopping. Free for lunch and in the afternoon, departure and end of our services.
