VITERBO – ROMA – ORVIETO - BOLSENA –FIRENZE – VENEZIA
DAY ONE: ROME
Arrival in Rome. Hotel transfer plus time for an individual insight of the magical city.Evening meal in hotel ,followed by sightseeing bus tour of Rome by night.Overnight stay in hotel.
DAY TWO: ROME, THE VATICAN- TIVOLI- ROME
Breakfast in hotel, followed by bus departure to the Vatican, visiting Saint Peter’s Square and the Basilica , the Tiber embankment, St. Giovanni in Laterano.Free to lunch anywhere.In the early afternoon guided tour of Villa d’Este in Tivoli with over 500 fountains in its beautiful Italian garden.Back to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY THREE: ANCIENT ROME – VITERBO
Breakfast in hotel. Guided tour of the city. Piazza Venezia, the Campidoglio , the Colosseum , the Palatino, the arch of Costantino.Free to lunch anywhere.In the early afternoon a chance to see the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona and then off to Viterbo, a beautiful medieval townHotel accommodation . Dinner in a restaurant in the historic centre.Overnight stay.
DAY FOUR: VITERBO – TUSCANIA – VITERBO
Breakfast in hotel. Guided tour of the Viterbese historic centre with its medieval part of town, the Papal palace, the Duomo, the Palazzo dei Priori , the municipal administration office.Free to lunch anywhere .Tuscania in the afternoon. Tour of town that has remains that date back to Etruscan and Roman times, but most of all the splendid Roman churches of St. Peter and Mary Maggiore, the most significant Roman monuments in the Viterbese region.Back to Viterbo. Evening meal in a restaurant and overnight stay in hotel.
DAY FIVE: VITERBO – ORVIETO – BOLSENA – VITERBO
Breakfast in hotel and departure for Orvieto.Guided tour of the town defined as a jewel of Etruscan and medieval art, the Duomo with its magnificent mosaics, the Basilica of St. CristinaFree to lunch anywhere.Next stop Bolsena and free time to visit this location and a stroll or go on a boat trip on the lake.Back to Viterbo. Dinner in a restaurant.Overnight stay in Viterbo.
DAY SIX: VITERBO – FLORENCE – VENICE
Breakfast in hotel and departure for Florence, symbol of Humanism and the Renaissance.Guided tour of the city’s most important monuments from the outside, such as the Duomo and the Battistero, the greatest examples of Florentine Gothic , the Cupola de Brunelleschi, Giotto’s Bell Tower.Free to lunch anywhere.In the afternoon guided tour of the Ponte Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the splendid panorama.At approximately 4 pm departure for Venice – MestreArrival and hotel accommodation.Dinner and overnight stay in hotel in Mestre.
DAY SEVEN: VENICE
Breakfast in hotel then train to Venice (10 minutes)Guided tour of the “magica città dei Dogi e della Serenissima”.St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica of St. Mark with its Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance details. A chance to admire the Clock Tower that not only tells the time but indicates the phases of the moon ,sun and zodiac. The Bridge of Sighs.Free to lunch anywhere.Free time to go on a gondola or visit the islands of the lagoon( Murano, Burano, Torcello).Back to hotel in Mestre. Dinner and overnight stay in Mestre.
DAY EIGHT: VENICE - TOWN OF ORIGIN
Breakfast in hotel and departure for town of origin.
