STROLLING THROUGH THE WINE CELLARS FOOD AND WINE TASTING IN LAZIO, TUSCANY AND UMBRIA

6 DAY BUS TOUR

DAY ONE : ROME – VITERBO

Arrival in Rome in the morning followed bus arrangements.

A chance to go on a sight seeing tour of Rome including the historic centre and the Vatican.

( depending on flight arrivals)

Departure for Viterbo in the afternoon.

Arrival and booked hotel accommodation .

Wine tasting –an aperitif with the wine EST EST EST in Montefiascone.

Typical dinner in medieval restaurant. Back to Viterbo.

Overnight stay.

DAY TWO : MONTEPULCIANO- MONTALCINO- CHIANTI HILLS

Breakfast in hotel and then on to Montepulciano/Pienza and guided tour of the town.

Tour of the Chianti hills with wine food and tasting- lunch – cold meats, cheese and bruschetta with a selection of quality wines, such as BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO and CHIANTI in “Castello Banfi”.

Typical Tuscan dinner. Back to hotel in Viterbo. Overnight stay.

DAY THREE : CANINO- TARQUINIA – CERVETERI

Breakfast in hotel and then off to Canino.

FOOD TASTING LUNCH- extra virgin olive oil.

Departure for Tarquinia and a guided tour of Etruscan tombs.

Next stop – Cerveteri. Guided tour of Etruscan necropolis.

In 2004 the Etruscan necropolis of Cerveteri and Tarquinia were declared a national heritage by the organisation UNESCO.

Aperatif in Cerveteri in one of the wine cellars .

Free time. Typical dinner in an excellent restaurant just outside Rome (near Cerveteri/Tarquinia).

Back to hotel in Viterbo. Overnight stay.

DAY FOUR : ORVIETO – MONTEFALCO

Breakfast in hotel and departure for Orvieto.

Chance to visit the vineyards and cellars of Orvieto including wine tasting.

Tour of the town with its beautiful Duomo.

Then on to Montefalco to taste Sagrantino wine.

Typical dinner. Back to hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY FIVE : GRADOLI – BOLSENA- MONTEFIASCONE

Breakfast in hotel and then on to Bolsena.

Boat trip on the lake and a visit to St. Cristina’s Church.

Wine tasting- Lunch – Wine and olive oil tasting at the wine cellar near Bolsena stopping off at a dairy.

Back to Viterbo in the evening. Dinner.

Overnight stay.

DAY SIX : VITERBO – ROME

Breakfast in hotel. Guided tour of this splendid medieval town.

Back to Rome. End of our services.
